Susan J. Craig-Olsen
Susan studied acting with Bud Beyer and musical theatre with Dominic Missimi at Northwestern University. After graduating with a BS in Communications, she went on to perform in Chicago area theaters; among them are the Goodman Theatre, the Candlelight Dinner Playhouse and the Marriott Lincolnshire Theatre. Susan toured with Donny Osmond in “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” and performed with the Radio City Rockettes in their “Christmas Spectacular” at the Rosemount Theatre in Chicago.
More recently, Susan was an Instructor of Theatre at North Central College for 8 years, where she enjoyed teaching college students jazz, ballet, tap, musical theatre dance, choreography and dance history. She directed 16 musicals in 14 years for their Summer Music Theatre! She is pleased to have received an entrepreneurial Coleman Grant to create a touring children’s theatre, The Red Bike Performance Company, which is now an NCC student organization.
Susan loves creating new works of theatre, especially since directing “Lunacy: A New Musical About Shooting For the Moon” (composer Jonathon Lynch, librettist Matt Boresi,) in Naperville, which later went on to premiere at the Gallery Players in Brooklyn, New York.
She lives in Naperville with her husband their three children.
