OVERVIEW

The School of Performing Arts Pre-Professional Dance Track is for serious students interested in pursuing dance at a college level or the possibility of a career path in the dance arts.

The Pre-Professional track is open to all motivated dance students. Placement class or audition for the Pre-Professional track will be required.

BALLET II & IIB: by placement

Class Length (Ballet II)

1 hour, 15 minutes

Required Number of Classes (Ballet II)

2 classes per week + stretch & strength

Class Length (Ballet IIB)

1 hour, 15 minutes

Required Number of Classes (Ballet IIB)

Option of 2 or 3 classes per week - 3x a week includes jazz

 

BALLET I: by placement

Ballet III: by placement

3 + 1 pre-pointe/pointe class

Various (can be added on an individual basis)

Ballet IV: by placement

Class Length

1 hour, 30 minutes

Required Number of Classes

 3 + 3 pointe 

Additional Classes

additional classes (character, basic partnering conception, contemporary, variations, body conditioning/strength training/floor barre, etc.) and rehearsals can be added on an individual basis

Ballet V: by placement

Class Length

1 hour, 30 minutes

Required number of classes: 

4 (center exercises may include pointe) + 3 pointe + variations

Additional classes

additional classes (character, beginning and intermediate partnering conception, contemporary, body conditioning/strength training/floor barre, etc.) and rehearsals can be added on an individual basis

Required Attire

Ballet, Pointe: Black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, Pointe shoes when applicable, hair in bun and pinned away from face

Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary: Tight fitting dance shorts or pants, tight fitting tops, jazz shoes (tan or black jazz shoes are acceptable), hair needs to be pulled back.
