Lessons in Violin, Viola, Cello, Piano, Voice, and classical guitar

Private music lessons offer a comprehensive musical education emphasizing note reading, ear training, theory and technique.  With the undivided attention of a dedicated and professional instructor at SPA, private lessons allow faculty to cater each lesson to every student individually and ensure all aspects of their musical education is met. Along with private lessons students are encouraged to participate in ensembles to hone skills such as active listening, collaboration, team work, time management and critique.

Students have the opportunity to participate in:

  • Festivals

  • Holiday Open House

  • Artists' Performing Showcase

  • Spring Rectials

  • Outside Performances in Naperville

All new students must take a trial lesson before scheduling for the semester.  Please call the Business Office for more information and to schedule a trial lesson.

Music students studying privately will participate in a studio class each semester.  This will allow all the students in each teacher’s studio to gather as a group, to listen, play, and perform for each-other in an educational format.  The teacher will guide constructive discussion time to allow feedback and peer learning.  This studio class is included in your tuition. Your studio class meets in lieu of your private lesson the week it is scheduled.  Detailed dates will be available upon registration.
