Our Theatre Mission

The School of Performing Arts Theatre Program is dedicated to creating a nurturing and collaborative learning environment where students grow as thinking and creative artists. We teach basic emerging and advanced theatre and acting skills, encourage creative self-expression, risk taking, tolerance and teamwork while enhancing self-awareness and self-esteem.

The Theatre Department is under the Artistic Direction of Heather Hutchison. She has developed new music and theatre programming, directed and taught acting, music and musical theatre  throughout the East Coast, Chicago and at the International Boarding School, Tasis, England and at Chateaux des Enfants in Lugano, Switzerland.

Heather leads the diverse theatre faculty in a curriculum that is designed to engage theatre students to develop skills in critical and creative thinking. Her dedicated faculty are inspired to implement a varied curriculum in T/V film, Improv and traditional styles of acting as well as historical and new musical theatre styles.
