It’s show time! This workshop will help students gain confidence and grow as young artists. They will receive the skills necessary to follow stage directions, articulate clearly, listen, react in the moment, create a character and an ensemble.
Musical Theatre Acting
Jump into the pages of award winning children’s literature and Broadway Shows mixed with toe tapping Broadway, Folk, and Contemporary Children’s music! Imaginative story-telling, creating characters. Improvisation, problem solving, teamwork and active listening skills are all emerging skills that bring focus to this theatre class. Expressive language and vocabulary thru storytelling helps develop greater self-confidence and creativity.
Stand-Up Comedy For Kids!
Students will focus on developing singing, acting and movement skills using a variety of musical theatre performing styles, texts and genres. Using an in-class “acting the song” workshop atmosphere, the foundation is laid to communicate more effectively, the stories, relationships and characters found in musicals. Students will work thru solo, duet and ensemble pieces and the last class will be a Public Cabaret performance by both levels of Musical Theatre Acting Classes.
Improvisation - "Improv"
Jump into the world of Sketch Comedy & Stand-up! This class is designedperfectly for our Improv students – bringing even more opportunity to work with a writing and character/storytelling focus.
TV/Film Techniques - Acting for the Camera
Ages 8 – 18
Students dive into the art of acting, while using creative drama and fundamental staging techniques and Improv Games to perform Improvisational works – truly working and learning ‘in the moment’
Ages 9 – 21
Screen acting classes are designed for students with an interest in film and commercial work, which is quite different from the stage. Learn about the TV/film industry by focusing on how to read copy, find camera angles, hit the mark, slate, audition, and book those gigs!
